Georgetta Lake

Georgetta Lake was part of the development of Youth Advocate Services, one of the first treatment foster care agencies. She also became a treatment foster parent in its first neighborhood program. She later was a member of the leadership team that developed Parenthesis Family Advocates and then Founder and Executive Director of Passage Inc, providing treatment foster care to African American youth whose needs were not being served in traditional foster care programs. She developed an International Young Women’s Empowerment Project, providing exchange opportunities for young women form Zimbabwe with the Columbus professional community. She has served on the board of many community organizations and associations, Park Medical Foundation, Long Street Business Association, St John Learning Center, Foundation for the African Diaspora and Near East Area Commission. She lives in the Franklin County suburbs and her more recent experience of providing care for her great granddaughter adds an experienced voice to our team in the arena of kinship.
