Build a circle of Support
- Remember those classmates in your pre-service class,
- your trainer and interviewer?
- These are all beginning contacts!
- The next step is to initiate a peer or mentoring relationship with an experienced resource parent.
Learn how to advocate for yourself and the children in your care.
One of the roles of the Ohio Family Care Association is to advocate for resource families wherever and whenever legislative discussions take place. By joining the OFCA, you gain access to legislative information and training opportunities.
Become involved in a local support group.
Contact us for a group near you, or find one on our Resources by Region page. If there is a need for greater support in your area, we can provide assistance in developing a support group.
